"We never walk away."
These are the words of the late Jim Camp, once known as the World's Most Feared Negotiator.
Camp said, "We never walk away from a negotiation. We may be told to go away, but we never walk away."
You can learn why and learn from the late, great Jim Camp himself in Michael Senoff's Jim Camp Master Negotiator Interview Series.
I find myself mentioning Jim Camp several times per week. I even have a webpage where I send people (briandoleary.com/jimcamp), but until today it wasn't much more than a reference page with a couple links to buy Camp's books, Start with NO (2002), and No (2007).
Thanks to the recommendation of my email mentor, Ben Settle, I bought Camp's books and read them a few years back, but I also stumbled upon Michael Senoff's site, HardToFindSeminars.com where Senoff has a remarkable catalog of interviews (mostly free ones) with all sorts of folks in the business world and beyond.
Some of the seminars and interviews are simply too valuable to give away for free. The Jim Camp program is one of them.
I did buy the Master Negotiator Interview series with Jim Camp and Michael Senoff a few years ago. I use the information every day.
Who was Jim Camp? Briefly…
Camp was a football player at Ohio State under the legendary Woody Hayes. He became a jet pilot in Viet Nam and after serving in the military, he came back to the states and started in business.
However it wasn't easy and he had a lot of fits and starts like most of us do.
Eventually, he determined that he was pretty darn good at negotiating deals, but he also had the wherewithal to come up with a system to teach negotiation to others. He coached over 100,000 people on negotiation and worked with more than 500 multinational organizations.
Like Coach Hayes, Jim Camp called himself a coach though he ultimately coached negotiation, not football.
Michael Senoff found out about my advocacy on behalf of Jim Camp's methods and allowed me to offer this product—over 7 hours of audio and more than 174 topics discussed— to "my people."
This is important in several ways, notably
It allows me a more robust product to offer to people like me who wanted more and more Jim Camp material but couldn't find it.
I negotiated a price—channeling Jim Camp's teaching that I learned from the product itself—specifically for The Good Folks who listen to our podcasts and read our newsletters. It comes out to a discount of over $400.
It serves my mission and purpose—to be a "man for others" in life and in business, and "mission & purpose" is the keystone of the Jim Camp system.

Like Jim Camp, I am a "coach," too. While I didn't play Division 1 football for a national championship coach, I've spent the last 3-plus decades learning from the best, both on the field and in the business arena.
Even though I call myself a "once and future ball coach," I still coach people every day — but now it is usually off the field or the hardwood.
I figure it is all a part of my mission and purpose.
As always,
Brian
