Not everybody agrees with me

Not a revelation, but that knowledge is helpful in fostering discussion.

I got some feedback from my email on Wednesday.

In that newsletter, I came down pretty hard on the Matrix franchise of movies.

• “There is only one Matrix movie.”

• “The matrix isn’t even from The Matrix.”

• “It also borrowed heavily from Snow Crash.”

I said in the email that I’d foster a debate on the subject.

A painful, every day reminder that lunatics remain in charge

This feedback resulted in scheduling a podcast about the merits of The Matrix and the themes from the movie.

Yesterday, I watched The Matrix for the first time in about 20 years.

Today, I recorded a podcast with Nick Pecone, the fellow who took me up on my offer to debate the merits of the movie.

The chat format of our podcast ended up with a show that goes about an hour. We’ll have that for you in the next few days.
